Gerstner Genussletter

The slightly unusual location

Gerstner gourmet catering exclusively serves the decorating workshops in the Vienna Arsenal.  The two “Maler” halls of the Art for Art creative workshops, with their studio atmosphere, give your event a unique flair.

The Arsenal is the most profane module of the Romantic historicism in Vienna. Essentially, the building complex is in its original form.

The former workshop space inside the courtyard were replaced by new buildings. The Painters halls now offer an innovative event framework.

The building was designed by Ludwig Foerstner in a oriental and gotic style and built by Theophil Hansen.

Behind the main entrance is the Army Historical Museum located; built in 1850 to 1857.

The Arsenal, a former military complex in the south-east of Vienna, was built on the occasion of the March Revolution in 1856.  It then served as a barracks and weapons factory during the two world wars.  In the post-war period, the building's damaged workshops inside the courtyard were replaced by new buildings.  Among these are the decorating workshops of the Federal Theater - where every year, scenery and props for over 40 new productions are produced - and the spacious “Maler” halls.
